“Recommendations for vaccine use in many Native American communities differ from those for the general population; vigorous vaccination practices have resulted in a lowering of the rates of morbidity and mortality from these preventable diseases in Native American communities”
-Committee on Native American Child Health and Committee on Infectious Diseases
Despite the more involved recommended vaccine schedule for Native American Populations, Indian Health Care (IHC) remains one of the most dismal facets of the U.S. Heath Care system and Native Americans are suffering because of it. This problem is heavily underfunded and largely ignored due to low Native American representation in America.
The founder of VIAI is a Native American decendent and has a strong desire to improve the condition of IHC and believes VIAI can do its part to help.
